Motorcycles Worse on the Environment Than Cars?
October 5, 2011 – 1:15 pmMotorcycles are worse on the environment than cars? Can it be? A popular TV show, the Discovery Channel’s MythBusters, seems to think so.
The Discovery Channel recently aired a Mythbusters episode which compared the fuel efficiency and pollutant emissions of cars versus motorcycles from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. When the data was analyzed, the motorcycles were more fuel efficient but they were much worse polluters for carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxide emissions (but polluted less for carbon dioxide).
