Hot Pants

January 20, 2009 – 2:48 pm

OK, so you bought a new pair of textile riding pants and your enjoying the ride.  You are nice and comfortable on an open road with no traffic.  The day is perfect.  The sights and the smells of the great outdoors are all around you when suddenly you smell something a little strange.  Did you pass a chicken farm?  Maybe a cattle ranch?  Nope, you’re just introducing your brand new pants to your once brilliantly polished chrome exhaust pipe(s).  Nothing ruins a perfect ride like hearing the sound of money being flush down the toilet.

Haven’t experienced this problem yet?  You are in luck!  There is a quick and easy fix for your potential problem…the Fieldsheer Burngaiter.  The Fieldsheer Burngaiter is a Nomex® panel with two hook and loop straps.  Nomex® was developed by DuPont to provide heat and flame resistance.  It is common place in racing and firefighting equipment.  Since the straps on the Fieldsheer Burngaiter are adjustible, you can place it right where you need protection.  Thus providing those brand new pants with all the protection they need from your hot exhaust.

The Fieldsheer Burngaiter is also great for rain gear.  Many of the high-end rainsuits have Nomex® panels built into them.  Unfortunately, you pay a nice price for that added protection.  By adding a Fieldsheer Burngaiter to your rain pants, you get all the protection of your current rain gear without the worry of a meltdown.
