Respect for the Scooter

I have a lot of love and respect for scooter riders. Many are turning to scooters to help save money or the environment (either way they are out there with us). But as more and more people are riding scooters, it is also helping motorists to be on the look out for people on two wheels.

Many other countries around the world are almost littered with people on scooters and motorcycles instead of driving cars. They save money and take up less room on the road. Here in America, bigger is always better. Stand on any street corner and SUVs will out number people on two wheels almost two to one. And with the popularity of cellphones with email and texting, no one is watching the road any more. Some friends were rear-ended the other day while stopped at a light…the guy wasn’t paying attention.

So if we have to look on the bright side of all these gas issues, more people are riding! This is forcing motorists to get their attention off the cellphone and back on the road were it belongs!
